Here at Heart Brain Balance, we offer a unique mix of deep insight and highly practical tools. We don’t purely rely on the most up-to-date neuroscience, and we don’t hang our practice on ancient wisdom with roots stretching back to India and other famous fountains of thought. No – instead it is where neuroscience research meets grounded spirituality to give you the best chance of becoming the best you, the type of you that you dream of. The ‘you’ that doesn’t waste time being a prisoner to difficult emotions and can spend that time on the things that really matter.

To instill these principles, my programs will use the power of pause, breath, movement, and your senses. As we work through the courses you will get a roadmap of when, where, and how to utilize these anti-stress tools in your life. It’s only when we support our nervous system to detect safety cues that we can reverse the stress response biologically and then begin to use our conscious mind to navigate difficult emotions.

In short, you will receive the building blocks for you to then be able to deal with whatever life throws at you in the way of stressful moments, events, and situations.

Movement-Based Stress Reduction Program

Our movement-based stress reduction program uses movements that target specific parts of the brain that helps in prepping our nervous system to detect safety cues. Our sessions will focus on understanding the impact of stress on us and developing skills to immediately manage emotions and impulsive behaviors. This can positively affect problem-solving skills, academic and social skills, and helps develop empathy for others.

Heart Math & Brain Gym program

Our heart math and brain gym program provides individuals with mindfulness, intentional breath, and movement tools, enabling them to reduce their overall stress levels. This program is wonderful for children who struggle with finding inner calm and concentration as well as parents and carers who want to decompress after a busy day. As well as physical exercise, we also incorporate education that supports emotional balance, allowing individuals to develop emotional resilience, helping them in times of extreme stress.

10-Step emotional regulation (stress management) program

Our 10 Step emotional regulation program is designed for individuals, small groups, and families who are looking to build resilience to stresses in their lives. This program focuses on teachable skills to educate the individual on their own unique stressors and glimmers and facilitate communication with others to restore their feelings of safety. Some of the skills taught include:

  • How to deal with life stresses
  • Manage their emotions
  • Analyze a situation to understand the ‘real picture’ not just a perception of reality
  • Improve decision-making to avoid going ‘off track’
  • Create workable plans to safely prepare ahead for difficult situations
  • Learn how to build relationships and when to avoid them
  • Use a multisystem sensory-motor approach to soothe your nervous system

Quantum Reflex Integration (QRI)​

Our QRI uses low-level laser therapy to adjust patients’ responses to neurological conditions such as anxiety. We use therapeutic lasers on acupressure points, stimulating reflex pathways that control primitive reflexes in the body. When these have not matured a person can have unhealthy physical and emotional responses to stress. By using QRI on these acupressure points we can improve the chances of primitive reflexes integrating with the rest of the neurological system, improving the mental and physical health of the individual.
